**Job Title: Field Service Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a mechanically minded, customer-focused technician with strong communication skills to support our industrial compactor and shredder installations worldwide. This role is ideal for those who thrive under pressure, enjoy hands-on problem-solving, and are committed to delivering high-quality service. You will begin by shadowing experienced technicians, learning the fundamentals of compactors and gaining hands-on experience with hydraulic power units, electrical controls, and compactor assemblies. Training includes inspection routines, lubrication procedures, cylinder assessments, and proper lockout practices, along with assisting in functional testing prior to shipment. Once you have demonstrated a solid foundation in compactor operation and maintenance, you will be paired with lead field service technicians for on-site work.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform scheduled PM inspections and services.
+ Identify worn components before failure.
+ Support mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
+ Prepare clear and detailed field service reports for each customer visit.
+ During the initial 12-month training period, travel will primarily be limited to the Northwest.
+ After showing strong product knowledge and consistently high levels of customer service, nationwide and international travel may be assigned as part of your ongoing responsibilities.
**Essential Skills**
+ Customer service skills.
+ Experience with industrial equipment.
+ Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
+ Mechanical aptitude with industrial machinery, fabrication, or mechanical systems.
+ Basic understanding of PLC systems, HMI screens, and both open-loop and closed-loop hydraulic systems.
+ Knowledge of 3 phase power, 230-575v AC, and 24Vdc controls.
+ Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (including overnight travel, typically up to 75%).
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, and working in tight or elevated spaces for extended periods.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Trade school, technical certification, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field.
+ Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, Lockout/Tagout, and Welding.

**Work Environment**
The role involves 50% travel and 50% time spent on-site. You will work with a variety of technologies and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency at all time
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WILSONVILLE, OR.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
