Field Service Technician

The **Field Service Technician** is responsible for performing field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This role includes hands-on work involving mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment, as well as system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and inventory management. Technicians in this position must also be capable of identifying and resolving safety issues on both company- and customer-owned systems. The role involves direct customer interaction and may require support across multiple technologies and sites. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential for success. **Key Responsibilities** To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential function effectively: + Create and maintain a safe working environment and safety-first culture. + Ensure proper care and maintenance of company tools, equipment, and property. + Demonstrate a high-impact culture through innovation, accountability, and empowerment. + Function effectively in both team-based and independent work settings. + Work under direct supervision but must be capable of operating independently when required. **Education & Experience Requirements** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Ability to obtain a CDL Class A or B with applicable endorsements. + Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card. + Clean driving record required. + 0 to 2 years of technical field experience; 1 year preferred. + Approximately 10% overnight travel required **Technical Skills & Competencies** + Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion systems (varies by business unit). + Technically sound and capable of troubleshooting with minimal guidance. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and smart mobile devices. + Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills. + Ability to synthesize technical information and clearly communicate solutions to customers and internal teams. + Able to apply insights gained from customer interactions to solve problems in creative and effective ways. **High-Impact Behaviors** Successful candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development by actively seeking learning opportunities and staying informed on industry advancements. Compensation is based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, and location.
