**Position Summary**
Xylem is seeking a **Field Service Technician** to perform service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This hands-on role involves working with mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment, performing troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and managing inventory. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**
To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to perform the following functions effectively:
+ Create and maintain a safe working environment; actively support a safety-first culture.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on company and customer-owned equipment.
+ Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system issues across multiple technologies.
+ Identify and resolve safety concerns in both field and shop environments.
+ Maintain tools, equipment, and company property in good working condition.
+ Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to team efforts.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teams.
**Education & Experience Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Clean driving record required.
+ 0 to 2 years of technical field experience; 1 year preferred.
+ Willingness to travel overnight up to 10%.
**Technical Skills & Competencies**
+ Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion systems (varies by business unit).
+ Strong troubleshooting abilities with minimal supervision.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart mobile devices.
+ Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to interpret technical information and clearly convey solutions.
+ Resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to apply insights from customer interactions to develop effective solutions.
**Compensation & Benefits**
The estimated pay range for this position is $25 to $29 per hour. Compensation is based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, and location.
