Field Service Representative (Technician / Technologist)

Eaton provides our technicians with the training, tools, and PPE to keep you safe on the job. • Opportunities for career advancement through a defined technical track as well as broader Eaton career opportunities in various business functions. • Have the support of a robust internal infrastructure including 24-hour Customer, Technical and Factory Support. • Continuous hands-on learning opportunities at a world-class training facility as well as field-based mentoring. • Competitive salary and benefits package including pension, medical, dental, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, vacation. • Tools including a company vehicle, laptop, hand tools, meters and smartphone. **What you’ll do:** Under the direction of the District Manager, this position is responsible to provide field service engineeringand technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems. **In this function you will:** + Provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment; self-manage assigned projects for electrical equipment; knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment; deliver technical solutions to customers; performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations + Skilled proficiency in the following: + Basic Test Equipment Operation + Basic Troubleshooting Techniques + Intermediate Test Equipment Operation + Advanced Troubleshooting Technique **Qualifications:** **Basic (Required) Qualifications:** • Post-secondary education degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist / CET from an accredited institution. • 1-3 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems. • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. **Preferred Qualifications** • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician • Experience in protective relays preferred. • Experience in performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis preferred. Pursuant to that policy, you may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing depending on the conditions set out in that policy. **Skills:** • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills. • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications. • Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills. • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. • Understanding of the company’s and competitor’s electrical, electronic and mechanical products. • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable. • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable. • Experience with protective relays is highly desirable. The expected annual salary range for this role is $69000 - $87000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
