Field Service Representative - ASLAV CPT TLS Program

The ASLAV crew procedural trainer (CPT) support team conducts all maintenance and repairs to the ASLAV simulators located at various defence establishments in Australia. Each site is manned by an FSR
with management of the sites being the responsibility of the maintenance manager (MM), who is located at the Puckapunyal site.

Please note this position is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an ASLAV crew procedural trainer Field Service Representative, you are accountable for:

During normal working hours, provide on-site support to the conduct of unit CPT gunnery training and when requested and approved, provide out of hours on site / off site phone support for unit CPT gunnery training When requested and approved, provide field support for a period of up to 6 weeks to the CPTs during deployment within Australia; Perform corrective and preventative maintenance of the CPTs and on site first line repair to CPTs; Arrange for, and supervise sub-contractor support for the ASLAV CPTs on an as required basis; Delivery of in unit CPT operator, instructor and maintainer training courses; At the request of the customer, design, and deliver additional exercises and scenarios as well as edit existing training scenarios; Assist in software and hardware modifications of the CPT; Provide direct liaison with the customer with regard to upgrades and suggested improvements of the CPTs; Provide detailed monthly reporting statistics to the MM with regard to simulator usage and downtime; Maintain on site stores and spares inventory;Provide subject matter expertise to Thales management with regard to future land-based simulation projects

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Sound understanding of computer and networking maintenance and servicing principals;Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities;Experience in the compilation and submission of detailed monthly reports;Experience in the writing and management of technical publications;Experience in the development and delivery of training;Experience in parts and issues database management;Demonstrate ability to liaise with customers and internal stakeholders in support of a major project;Demonstrate ability to utilise a failure, reporting, and corrective action system;Demonstrate ability to understand and utilise a configuration management process;Excellent communication skills – written and verbal;

​DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Australian light armoured vehicle gunnery instructor;ASLAV CPT Qualified; Configuration management experience.
