About This Role
Textron Systems, leading developers of high-performance Unmanned Systems and a proven partner for both military and commercial applications, is offering a full-time opportunity for a Field Service Representative to support our growing family of unmanned naval products. Our teams are engaged in multiple cutting-edge development and sustainment programs including both domestic and international programs and locations. This position provides an opportunity to travel, support fielded systems in sustainment, execute experimental military hardware testing, and develop new skills. This position reports to the lead FSR for the Common Unmanned Surface Vessel (CUSV) program.
The strong candidate will have hands-on experience in the test, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems and will be ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The position also includes supporting on-water operations of surface systems and payloads, serving as a small craft operator, safety lookout, or support crew member. Position will require a strong working knowledge of mechanical applications as well as electrical.
Responsibilities
Proactively engages in planning and coordination of logistical sustainment and operations at remote test sites and/or Navy field support sites.Monitors system and support equipment readiness for operations so that malfunctions and their causes can be identified proactively and corrected.Manages inventory databases, local stock levels, and executes supply chain functions.Performs field level preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective actions on systems including but not limited to: computer systems, electrical systems, networks, radios, diesel engines, marine drivetrain, propulsion (sterndrives), cooling systems, and power generation systems.Provides end-user reach-back support for troubleshooting and operations of fielded systems.With training, operates the USV and installed payload(s) from a diagnostic computer, handheld controller, and via the remote operator interface station.Performs software and firmware installations and upgrades for the CUSV and payload systems, spares, and associated support equipment.Conducts maintenance work orders and technology insertions for CUSV and payload assets.Operates test equipment (chase crafts, cable spooling equipment, broadband radios).Responsible for test or inspection data management, data collection, and generation of reports.Use of small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screw drivers and pliers.Use of large tools including specialized equipment for maintenance of stern drives and engines.Provides general logistics functions to include shipping and receiving.Performs field upgrades to enhance system capabilities and provide additional features.Troubleshoots technical problems and issues and determines technical solutions with equipment listed, but not limited to: Digital Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, Amp clamps, Spectrum Analyzers, and borescopes, TDR’s.Prepares technical reports on equipment failures, systems diagnostics, design analysis, and logs daily craft activities.Be able to deploy both domestically and internationally. Minimum travel expectation is 50%, but travel of 100% may be required for deployment scenarios. Deployments may include periods of living aboard a Navy ship, typically rotations of 3 weeks at sea followed by 1 week on land.Responsible for assisting in training of new FSR hires and training of customer where needed and required.Follow and enforce all safety protocol.Responsible for performing quality control functions to ensure craft readiness and repair quality.Can work within a team or independently.Other duties as assigned.Who We Are

2-year degree in a technical field or trade school, or a minimum of five years of related experienceAbility to Swim and be comfortable around water in an ocean environmentStrong knowledge of Electrical troubleshootingExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to quickly learn through on-the-job training and independent studyAbility to interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation; and ability to evaluate, isolate, and repair malfunctionsThe ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
