**Job Description: Field Service Mechanic – Heavy Equipment** **Location: Cedar Rapids, IA** **Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent** **Pay: $36-40hr + $7,500 sign-on bonus!** **Position Overview** We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Field Service Mechanic to join our team and provide on-site maintenance and repair services for heavy equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, and values customer satisfaction. You’ll be working independently in the field, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment is operating at peak performance. **Key Responsibilities** + Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes. + Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and ensure compliance with safety standards. + Travel to customer sites to provide timely and efficient service, often in challenging environments. + Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation using digital tools or service software. + Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to report findings, recommend solutions, and ensure satisfaction. + Operate service vehicles and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. + Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times. **Compensation and Benefits** + Hourly pay: $36–$40, based on experience and qualifications + $7,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment + Competitive overtime opportunities + Company service vehicle and tools + Health, dental, and vision insurance + 401(k) with company match + Paid time off and holidays + Ongoing training and career development opportunities **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred + Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair + Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints + Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL preferred + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail + Ability to work independently and manage time effectively **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr. 401k, health, dental, vision, PTO **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids,IA. **Application Deadline** This position is anticipated to close on Oct 15, 2025. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
