Field Service Engineer - MSOL
Reporting directly to the Field Instrument Service Coordinator, the Field Service Engineer performs activities necessary for the installation, testing, commissioning, and technical support of Emerson instrumentation at customer sites. They are responsible for performing work according to Emerson's safety and quality standards. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Provide technical support to customers. + Solve customer issues related to process instrumentation (sensors and electronic components for flow, pressure, level, and temperature). + Perform maintenance tasks on instrumentation. + Conduct instrument acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, training, fault analysis, and corrective work at customer sites. + Carry out all activities (repairs, installations, training, etc.) according to guidelines and certifications. + Provide emergency call-out services to deliver fast and efficient customer support. + Perform required work in the best possible way to meet deadlines and customer expectations. + Keep the workshop/workplace tidy and presentable. + Communicate relevant issues properly to maintain customer satisfaction within the Emerson organization. + Provide customer training. + Adhere to Emerson’s local and international trade compliance procedures in all transactions and business practices. + Identify market requirements and specifics, develop and implement strategies and tactics to grow orders and profitability for assigned customers. + Demonstrates full commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by leading safety practices, reporting incidents, completing mandatory training, and consistently using the Emerson Safety App to foster a proactive safety culture. **Who You Are:** You are a technically skilled and hands-on engineer with a proactive approach to fieldwork. You take pride in solving complex instrumentation challenges while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance. With a solid engineering background and a readiness to travel, you lead by example in promoting a positive safety culture, consistently using tools and participating actively in training, reporting, and incident prevention. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Degree or high school diploma in an engineering field such as (but not limited to) electrical, electronic, computer, instrumentation, and/or digital application. + Relevant experience in the Process sector, Service Company, or Industrial Company. + Hands-on experience in calibration, solving, and installation of instrumentation. + Knowledge of fundamental measurement principles. + Good communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken. + Availability to work outside office hours and perform on-call services, if applicable. + Availability to work offshore, if applicable. + Willingness to work in various locations within Italy and/or other countries (for installation, commissioning, or fixing, for a limited period). + Driver’s license. **Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:** + Proven experience in calibration, troubleshooting, and installation of process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature sensors). + Strong grasp of measurement principles and digital instrumentation. + Prior work in the process industry, service companies, or industrial settings, especially with customer-facing responsibilities. + Willingness to travel across Italy and abroad, including offshore assignments and emergency call-outs. + Traits like resilience, collaboration, accountability, and the ability to manage complexity are highly valued. **Our Culture & Commitment to You** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
