Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesSummaryReporting to Field Service Manager the Field Service Engineer will conduct on-siteinstallations, repairs, preventive maintenance and customer training (hardware, software andlimited applications), for assigned instrumentation. Support the North American ServiceOperations to include Field Service, In-House Repair, Sales, Customer Service and ProductManagement. The position will represent the Mettler Toledo standard of ‘Trusted Advisor’ toour customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include,
• Perform on-site installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of assigned AutoCheminstrumentation, including but not limited to infrared reaction profiling equipment, lasercrystallization monitoring equipment, automated lab reactor and sampling solutionsystems, proprietary software and associated applications• Establish and maintain the “Trusted Advisor” role for all customer interactions bydelivering exceptional customer service, expertise, product positioning, lead generationand training throughout the product lifecycle• Consistently document, communicate and manage customer issues with the Sales, Serviceand support teams• Proactively prioritize, schedule, track and execute service assignments to satisfactorycompletion• Document and report scheduling, utilization and escalation in a timely manner• Possess general software literacy and knowledge of Windows-based operating systems• Overnight Travel requirements in excess of 50%, that may include extended overnight trips insideand outside assigned U.S. territory with international travel for service product training• Demonstrates exemplary skills in customer relations and enhance customer satisfaction /perceptions by providing value added services (e.g. Equipment Qualification)What You Need to SucceedBachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical, or electrical field is preferred.Minimum 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent education in electronic / electrical engineering environment with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.Ability to travel around 75% overnight travel. Territory includes Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennesse, Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Location in Houston, TX area is ideal. Software and hardware literacy and proficiency of Windows-based and embedded operating systems. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.Knowledge of SAP is a plus. This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
