Field Service Engineer - Facilities

**Job Description**
A day in the life of a Field Service Engineer, focusing on Facilities Maintenance Planning and Analysis and Asset Management, consists of supporting continued facility operations by triaging facility issues and initiating technical documentation for corrective actions. The Field Service Engineer will coordinate service requests and utility outages that impact production to support immediate maintenance actions and will perform technical analysis of preventative and corrective maintenance activities to plan future recapitalization projects. The Field Service Engineer will generate formal reports based on the results of the analysis and provide recommendations to the customer. The Field Service Engineer will maintain and adhere to procedural documentation that meets corporate standards.
As an aside, team members will be exposed to a variety of Predictive Maintenance technologies and building inspection disciplines, which presents opportunities to cross-train in other fields, like; vibration analysis, ultrasound, infrared thermography, corrosion control, and building science.
In this job, you will:
+ Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to help make informed decisions.
+ Use web-based applications (SharePoint) and Microsoft Office to generate formal reports.
+ Generate communication documents to inform internal and external team members of critical issues.
+ Ensure execution of systems engineering processes throughout the project lifecycle, report on project status, and measure progress against specific plans.
+ Prepare and review packages, present data to both internal and external customers, and provide feedback to improve processes and work to meet engineering objectives.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in engineering disciplines and ensure cost-effectiveness when providing recommendations.
+ Conduct inspections to verify asset condition, confirm maintenance execution, and support engineering assessments.
+ Conduct detailed analysis of corrective maintenance (CM) and preventative maintenance (PM) reports to identify trends, recurring issues or failures, and opportunities for maintenance improvements.
+ Evaluate asset performance data to assess reliability, lifecycle condition, and compliance with maintenance standards.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
We are seeking candidates with a combination of education and related work experience that aligns with the following:
High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of relevant experience
Associate s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
Bachelor s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Master s Degree and 2 years of relevant experience
Additional skills/experience required:
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to guidelines and deadlines.
Understand electrical and mechanical systems, building science, and maintenance principles.
Must be able to read and interpret operational and maintenance manuals, construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
Ability to work from heights (ladders, catwalks, aerial lifts).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Routinely interface with the customer.
Develop and cultivate a positive working relationship with the customer and co-workers.
Gather, interpret, and execute customer requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Familiarization with Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) operations, requirements, and physical layout.
Familiarization with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is desirable.
Certifications in any of the following areas:
Coating Inspector Program (AMPP/NACE)
Airborne/Structure Borne Ultrasound (ISO)
Infrared Thermography (ISO)
Vibration Analysis (ISO)
Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas:
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineering (ASHRAE) standards
Industrial Control Systems
Maintenance Management
Facility Inspection
Electrical and/or Mechanical Systems
National Electric Codes
Utilization of the following tools and/or software:
Trio Vibration Data Collector/ExpertAlert Software
Ultraprobe15000/Data Management System (DMS) and Spectralyzer Software
FLIR Infrared Camera/FLIR Tools /FLIR Thermal Studio Software
Elcometer 456 and Elcomaster or similar coating inspection tools
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $79370 - $134929
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
