Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and machining industry, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of the technical support team, providing essential services to customers in the Syracuse, New York area. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset, which will align successfully with the organization.

Location: Syracuse, New York

Pay Range: $83,000 - $110,000

What's the Job?

Provide customers with maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools, either on location or via telephone. Create and update documentation of technical information and generate ongoing and ad-hoc special reports related to service. Collaborate with Customer Service Engineers to assist in the installation and maintenance of newer product lines. Establish and maintain exemplary communication and customer service relationships with clients. Manage challenging customer situations positively and respond promptly to customer needs while soliciting feedback for service improvement.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a technical field is preferred. 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools. Experience with various CNC machines, including Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens controls is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on exceptional customer service. Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.
