Field Service Technician – ABB Robotics
Your Role:
Robotics and Discrete Automation is shaping the future of flexible manufacturing with smart and collaborative machines. Within Robotics, we develop, manufacture, and market robots along with control systems, software, and more. Through automation, ABB Robotics helps its customers improve productivity, quality, and workplace safety. Key customer segments include manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, logistics, and electronics, among others.
As a Field Service Technician, you will perform service work in accordance with ABB’s quality standards and safety guidelines. You will work closely with both customers and other ABB teams and act as the technical hub that delivers quality and meets customer service needs. You will be responsible for providing routine maintenance and technical support on-site or remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting, repairs, customer support, and preventive maintenance on our robot systems.
Diagnosing issues with equipment and making recommendations to prevent future failures.
Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, assessing their needs, and providing expert support and solutions.
Identifying opportunities to develop new service offerings, equipment, and methods.
In addition to product knowledge and service skills related to ABB’s robots and control cabinets, you’ll need the competence to service and maintain our vision-based machine tending cells.
Sharing ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while also being accountable for your colleagues and the business.
This role includes being on-call as part of a duty rotation.
Qualifications
You are a trained electrician or have equivalent professional experience.
You have experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals.
A vocational college education in robot automation or a technical/mechanical engineering background in electricity or equivalent work experience is a plus.
Experience/knowledge of various vision systems is advantageous.
Programming skills in RAPID, RobotStudio, and PLC (e.g., TIA Portal) are a plus.
You hold a Category B driver’s license and enjoy traveling for work.
You have a strong safety mindset, are adaptable, collaborative, and solution-oriented.
You are fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
