Field Service Engineer

Evertz is a world leading company in the design of innovative and pioneering broadcast video & audio equipment.

We currently have a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to be based at our UK facility, in Winnersh Triangle, Wokingham, RG41 5TP.

This is a customer focused role providing a wide range of technical support for our broadcast clients based in the UK and Europe. We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic engineer/technician with a strong interest in the broadcast or professional AV environments at a technical level.


Job Responsibilities:

Respond and provide technical direction to customers regarding operational issues, firmware upgrades and general maintenanceAssess the customer’s product application, troubleshoot and diagnosis issues through research and/or re-creation to determine the root causeRecommend solutions utilizing various levels of technical language appropriate to the customer in a timely, clear and professional mannerMaintain a communication link between customer service and other departments by partnering to resolve customer issues and communicating customer feedback to aid in design changes including customer “feature requests” to product managersSupport the development of product communications by generating or authoring customer guides and provide the technical writing group with information including Pinouts, FAQ, Application notes, Best Practices and customer product or system configuration and product integration with other manufacturer’s productsInstall product(s) or systems at customer sites and delivering training to customers in-house or abroad
Qualifications & Desired Competencies:An education in Electrical, Electronic, Networking or Computer Electronics Engineering or technologyDirect experience with Server Hardware, Linux OS and Network setup is an assetSimilar experience will be considered an assetUnparalleled desire to help the customer and deliver service excellencePassion for technology and learning new software and hardware productsStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-driven with a desire to add value to an energetic teamProblem-solving ability and able to react to changing situationsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentMust be eligible for international travel and be able to work alone with little or no supervision1-2 years’ experience working with broadcast/post-production products would be an assetMust have a valid driver’s license
