The Field Service Engineer, Apprenticeship position will assume the selected candidates will require training in all aspects of our work from the mundane simple tasks through the highly technical and complex. The final goal is to create Field Project Managers capable of addressing any technical issue and managing complex relationships with the largest companies on earth, supporting daily operations and construction growth projects. This will approximately a two-year program and at the end of this two-year training and experience cycle the position will change, working independently and trusted member of the team. You will make an impact with the following responsibilities and training: Electrical Safety including Lock Out Tag Out, NFPA 70E Certification and OSHA 30. Proper use of basic hand tools, and standard measurement devices to carry out dimensional inspection of components and assemblies. Proper use of technical diagnostic electronic test equipment. Troubleshooting principles and repairs of electrical and instrumentation systems. Test and operated Low Voltage switchgear and systems related equipment. Document control. Computer systems and integrated software application programs. Engineering standards. Latest technologies and processes. Computer Automated Drafting use. Planning work and scheduling efforts. Troubleshooting, repair, installation, inspection of Low Voltage Switchgear Switchboards and Low voltage distribution equipment. Proper control wiring methodologies. Adapting to varying demands and prioritizing workload. Able to read, understand and properly interpret detailed electrical and mechanical component drawings, assembly drawings and bills of materials. Able to use standard laboratory calibrated torque, and temperature devices. Operating, uploading programs and testing PLC, HMI and a wide variety of other automation equipment. Performing commissioning activities such as FAT – Factory acceptance testing, through end process commissioning SAT – Site Acceptance Testing and all the other between. You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record with the ability to drive. Must be willing and able to travel for about 50% of the time. Must have good credit rating, credit reports will be run to obtain a corporate credit card for that travel. Must be able to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime, as needed. Must have the physical flexibility and ability to kneel, squat, climb ladders, bend and work an eight (8) hour challenging day if necessary. Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Military and Technical school are advantages. Advanced computer skills Microsoft Office software familiarity. Technical diploma or certification from military or trade school. Knowledge of network and communication protocols. Technical experience with manufacturing, electrical/electronic engineering technology, or other areas of specialization. Prior electrical equipment service experience.
