The role:

As a Field Operator, you’ll take part in large-scale pest control projects in some of New Zealand’s most remote and iconic landscapes, using trapping and toxin deployment methods. In return, you’ll gain practical experience, work toward industry qualifications, and join a team that values grit, reliability, and results.

This is physically demanding, full-time outdoor work, ideal for those who back their stamina and enjoy working hard as part of a solid team.

Location: 

Our teams frequently travel to operational sites across the South Island, providing the opportunity to experience New Zealand off the beaten track. At times, you may be required to stay away for the working week (Mon - Fri) plus the occasional 10-day stint, with accommodation and meals provided.

What we’re looking for:

Fit and capable of carrying heavy loads over steep terrain Comfortable working outdoors in all weather Able to work away from home for the working week A good communicator with a solid commitment to health and safety Positive, reliable, and willing to learn Able to work independently in the field and manage time efficiently Eligible to work full-time in New Zealand NZ driver's licence with a clean driving record  Able to drive off-road vehicles Clear criminal record

Desirable but not essential:

Previous experience or qualifications in pest control or biosecurity work. First Aid Certificate ATV, LUV, or 4WD qualifications GrowSafe or Controlled Substance Licence  NZ Firearms Licence Chainsaw use NZQA unit standards or related training

Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
