Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Field Installation Technician - Tires as a Service (TaaS) will execute the hardware installations on the vehicles of TaaS clients. The incumbent will assure absolute quality of all installations, following the installation playbook and standards. The associate will assure flawless performance and maintenance of hardware throughout the service period and execute any necessary troubleshooting in the field. This position will also support where needed the training of service providers on sensor and telematic installations. This role will supervise their work in cases when the installation is outsourced. The Field Installation Technician - TaaS will also manage the receipt, storage, and registration/scanning of TaaS hardware equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (include percentage of time spent on each item listed):
Deliver TaaS hardware installation objectives against pre-defined plan (installation cycle) in a given geography for assigned scope of customers. Follow-up on installation schedules with Fleet Manager and the workshop, if required engage special resources (ADR certified Electrician). Prepare the hardware for installation (settings, necessary tools, etc.).
Execute on hardware troubleshooting activities at Customer and execute the maintenance activities in the field.
Quality and count control at the receipt of hardware equipment. Assure proper storage of hardware equipment. Counting of hardware after installation and requesting new hardware when current hardware is consumed for future installations
Education & Certifications
Required: High School Diploma
Desired: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Experience:
3 or more years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation/repair work
Technical experience with tractor-trailer trucks and their related telematics and tires
Strong technical background and experience with planning and scheduling
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
Self-driven, persistent, and a team player
Strong entrepreneurial and communication skills
Ability to plan with different parties and execute against plan
Basic information technology (IT) skills
Fluent in language of the selected territory plus English
Open to travel up to 4-7 days a week (mainly Thursday-Sunday)
