Description
Summary:The Field Engineer I is an integral part of the fiber design and construction process, contributing to the buildout of new networks and expansion of existing networks. Working as part of the Construction and Operations organization, this role has overall accountability for obtaining easements as well as the intake of field information on utility poles to help drive our ability to provide fiber internet service to our communities. This position directly impacts on our ability to quickly solve design and construction issues, while identifying cost savings opportunities.
Essential Job Functions:
+ Approach property owners for easement requests to place our facilities aerially or underground and obtain ingress and egress rights for access to these facilities for construction and maintenance purposes.
+ Explain easement process and benefits of signing to propertyowners.
+ Obtain applicable signatures for processing.
+ Represent and participate in events involved in educating potential customers on Greenlight’s products and procedures.
+ Inform internal team of easement statuses and associated timelines, tracking individual progress against set goals to ensure deadlines are met.
+ Collect geo-located utility pole photos and make accurate attachment height of attachments on captured photos.
+ Review and/or correct data integrity errors within the IKE Database or other systems as necessary.
+ Identify electric hazards, electric equipment, and communications equipment on utility poles.
+ Participate as an active contributor to cross-functional internal teams to help drive clear decision making in the buildout and maintenance of our network.
+ Other tasks as deemed necessary in support of Greenlight’s network build and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Ability to manage processes and deliverables associated with multipleprojects.
+ Display excellence in oral and written communicationskills.
+ Ability to effectively establish working relationships with outside entities for the purpose of executing Greenlight’s business needs.
+ Demonstrate collaboration skills with internal and external parties to achieve company goals and objectives.
+ Comfortable using a computer, MS Office products, Google Earth and various software packages and Web- based products.
+ Use of respectful communication with co-workers and business contacts in a professional manner.
+ Ability to travel within all Greenlight’s markets as needed.
Education and Experience:
+ Associate's Degree or two years of equivalent experience in the telecommunication.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The pay range for this position is $$27/hr - $31/hr. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
