Aloha! One of Hawaii's local telecom clients is seeking a Fielder Engineer! Although this role will start off as part-time (20 hours guaranteed/week), it can eventually turn into full-time depending on the work and candidate's availabilities. Description A. Designs and estimates various outside plant overhead and routine underground jobs, including buried cable. Issues work orders to authorized construction forces to install facilities as designed and within a scheduled time frame. B. Performs field surveys to determine available facilities for completion of service orders. Determines field conditions along proposed facility (underground cable, aerial cable, poles, manholes, etc.). C. Prepares working drawings (blueprints, maps, etc.) from sketches or verbal instructions using draft tools, computer aided design (CAD), and related equipment. D. Reviews completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. E. Processes joint pole applications, road and sidewalk crossings, cost estimates, customer's complaints and requests, and held orders. F. Initiates corrective action upon recognition of equipment and/or procedure problems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Valid Driver's License. Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Ability to lift, push or pull manhole covers or pull boxes (occasionally). Requires alertness and attention to detail. Work Environment Indoor-outdoor work. Exposed to dust, dirt, heat, rain, scratches, bruises, etc. Scheduled work tours may be weekday, weekend and holiday, including day, evening and night hours. Subject to occasional scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime and callouts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
