PRIMARY FUNCTION / OBJECTIVE:

The Field Clinical Engineer (FCE) provides advanced technical expertise in biomedical engineering to support Abbott’s capital equipment at installed centers. The role involves ensuring seamless hardware connectivity, basic operation, and troubleshooting of capital equipment, meeting customer expectations. Additionally, the FCE collaborates as sales teams with physicians, and product managers to provide technical guidance, training, and field service support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of Abbott’s electrophysiology (EP) therapies, technologies, and the local healthcare market.

• Provide technical support and assistance to sales teams and physicians for capital equipment across the national territory.

• Deliver revenue targets by providing technical expertise that enhances product adoption and customer satisfaction.

• Act as a liaison between product marketing and product management for product incident monitoring and reporting, following Abbott’s standard procedures.

• Support product development initiatives as requested.

• Analyze competitors’ devices and contribute insights to the marketing database.

• Promote Abbott’s EP product lines and support market penetration through technical guidance and professional engagement.

• Conduct product presentations and respond to technical inquiries at exhibitions and conferences.

• Provide training to field clinical engineers, distributors, and customers on Abbott products, applications, and reimbursement guidelines (if applicable).

• Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical sites in the assigned territory

• Perform field service and technical support for capital equipment as needed.

REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor’s degree or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

Minimum 3 years of mapping‑related experienceProven track record in market penetration and business development supportHigh competency in cath lab and operating room protocols and proceduresRecognized as a leader or expert beyond assigned accountsProficiency in Korean and English (written and spoken) requiredIn‑depth understanding of electrophysiology product portfolio, including capital equipment and related technologiesFamiliarity with product features, applications, and troubleshooting techniquesFamiliarity with quality management systemsUnderstanding of customer complaint handling and reporting proceduresBasic understanding of supply chain and inventory tracking for EP productsAwareness of capital equipment status tracking and procedure data managementUnderstanding of healthcare market dynamics, hospital procurement processes, and reimbursement systemsKnowledge of medical device regulations and compliance with local and international standardsUnderstanding of market dynamicsBasic hardware and software troubleshooting for capital equipmentIBHRE‑CEPS certification preferredAbility to work with personnel at all levelsExcellent communication skills
