Fiberline Engineer, Bleached Pulp Mill and Wastewater Treatment Plant
The opportunity:
This position supports the operation of the Fiberline at the Covington mill which includes the Woodyard, Batch Digesters, three Brown Stock Washing and Screening lines, three Bleaching lines, a ClO2 plant, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This position requires the capability to manage projects, processes, and people. This position will support the implementation of systems to improve equipment, process reliability, operator knowledge and involvement. The primary assignment is in the Bleached Pulp Mill and Wastewater Treatment Plant with call duty covering the entire Fiberline process area.
How you will impact WestRock:
Solve process, equipment, and operational failures.Assist in maintenance shut down execution of process lines, monitor key parameters of bleaching units and wastewater treatment plant regulations, and adjust production schedules as needed to support overall mill performance. Use Fiberline Visual Reports (PI Vision, PI Processbook) to monitor and report key Fiberline KPI’s such as brightness, dirt, chemical usage, COD’s, BOD’s, and sludge quality. Maintain, develop, and enhance operator checklists for start-up and shut down of equipment and support SME implementation of new process training systems.
What you need to succeed:
Engineering degree with 2 years of work experience, preferably in a paper mill environment. Self-starter with drive to continuously improve current state of the areas of responsibility. Understanding of the pulping/bleaching process. Ability to identify trends, troubleshoot, and communicate effectively up and down the chain of command. Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Quantum Excel)
