Fiberline Maintenance Operations Coordinator, Covington, VA
The opportunity:
As the Fiberline OMC, you will impact the Fiberline- Unbleached department by coordinating with the maintenance team for outages, scheduling, volume, budget responsibilities among other areas of responsibility. Coordinate with department leadership to ensure uptime is optimal and downtime is utilized appropriately to minimize operational disruptions. You will also over see production and supervise employees in the departments.How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
Maintenance responsibilities for helping achieving production goals – volume, availability, safety, quality, maintenance budget.Responsible for coordinating daily and scheduled outage maintenance tasks.Participate in capital project planning. Utilize SAP system for work orders, parts ordering, outside services, cost monitoring.Work with planner, maintenance foreman, and other core team members to drive safety.Provide Bleach Room/WTP areas with technical expertise to help resolve issues. Will monitor production and supervise employees in daily duties. Participate in team meetings to update crews on current and future equipment status.Will work on regular night and weekend duty call rotation.Interface with crew members to keep them up to date on daily machine maintenance activities.Assist and begin learning all aspects of Unbleached Pulp Mill Operations to help with decisions around maintenance activities.Must be able to deal with a stressful high paced environment and maintain flexibility.• Responsible that all employees understand and utilize all safety requirements of job functions; in addition to use all required PPE during job tasks. Position requires full knowledge of safety requirements and ensure compliance and accountability. Working knowledge all safety procedures (including LOTO, fall protection, confined space entry, hot work and JHA for each position, proper guarding, seat belts, dock locks, etc.). Employee must follow standard work procedures and safe work.
What you need to succeed:
5 to 8 years Fiberline experienceDemonstrated experience managing union relationships and labor relationsPossess exceptional oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environmentDemonstrated success in applying fresh, creative thinking and a growth mindset to complex challenges/problems resulting in high impact outcomesExcellent cross-group collaboration, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsCompetency with Microsoft Office tools, SAP, Echo, PI, Meridium.
