Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Fiber Optics Operations Manager for our client in Muskegon, MI to lead and launch their new fiber optics divisio. This individual will be instrumental in building the division from the ground up—driving business development, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring successful execution of projects. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new business unit and establish a strong presence in the fiber optics market. As the Fiber Optics Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the division’s operations, from strategic planning to execution. Your role will involve developing and implementing operational processes, managing project timelines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will actively engage in business development by leveraging your network to secure new contracts and partnerships. Additionally, you will recruit and train team members, coordinate with excavation crews, and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors. This position requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational oversight with growth initiatives. Skills and Requirements - Proven experience in fiber optics operations, including installation and maintenance. - Strong background in business development and client relationship management. - Demonstrated ability to launch and scale a division or business unit. - Excellent leadership and team-building skills. - Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements. - Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. - Strong communication and negotiation skills. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed. - Existing network of industry contacts for business development. - Certifications such as FOA (Fiber Optic Association) or equivalent. - Previous experience in start-up environments or new division launches.
