**Job Title: Fiber Optic Technician** **Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, splicing, terminating, and testing fiber-optic cables, ensuring high-quality network performance. This role requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and engineers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install, splice, terminate, and test both single-mode and multi-mode fiber-optic cables.
+ Perform OTDR, power meter, and light-source testing to verify signal integrity.
+ Interpret blueprints, schematics, and network diagrams accurately.
+ Install and configure network hardware such as patch panels, enclosures, and distribution frames.
+ Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and potential obstacles.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, test results, and network layouts.
+ Adhere to safety standards, local codes, and industry best practices.
+ Operate specialized tools such as fusion splicers, cleavers, and cable locators.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure timely project completion.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in soldering with over 3 years of experience.
+ Experience in the electronics, manufacturing, or assembly industry.
+ Familiarity with microscopes and the ability to work under them.
+ Knowledge of ISO/AS quality systems.
+ High school diploma or GED.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ IPC 610 and/or 620 and J Standard Certification is a plus.
+ Good hand dexterity and ability to use small tools.
+ Attention to detail.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trenton, NJ.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
