Our client is doubling down on its commitment to improve rural broadband through Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model (E-ACAM) support from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). E-ACAM is a multi-year program that provides funding to deploy and support 100/20 Mbps or faster broadband service to some of the most rural geographies in our footprint.

Assist in the creation of OSP Design maps using GIS. You will have to understand numerous projects, possibly located in multiple locations and states.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design of OSP projects in multiple locations and states. This may involve:

Creating labor, material, and overheads project cost estimates.

Utilize GIS tools to design fiber network builds within a GIS platform, often partnering with other OSP Engineering (OSPE) associates.

Create and perform analysis on fiber network designs for the OSP teams utilizing GIS tools and extensions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Looking for 3-5+ years of telecommunications experience at a minimum.

These are the “other” qualifications we usually put on our job descriptions as well. The GIS/ArcGIS experience is probably our highest need because all our design work occurs in that software.

GIS experience

ESRI ArcGIS experience

Experience in Telephony or related fields

Understanding of Telecommunications industry and principals

Knowledge of NESC construction practices and engineering standards

Excellent leadership, customer relations and communications skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Excellent written and oral communications skills

PC database, spreadsheet and word processing skills

Ability to work in a cooperative and courteous manner with diverse work groups

Ability to read and assess fiber and/or HFC designs and prints

Need their own desktop computer that would VPN into a remote desktop that TDS would provide. Their computer would only need to be capable of creating the connection and then TDS would provide all necessary software and connections via that remote desktop.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr.
