Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM
Fencing Operative – Build a Long-Term Career with a Trusted TeamAre you a practical, hands-on worker who enjoys being outdoors? We're looking for a Fencing Operative to join our North East team based in Middlesbrough, working across a variety of fencing projects throughout the local area.

What You'll Be Doing:As a Fencing Operative, you'll play a key role in the safe, professional installation of fencing across residential and commercial sites. Your responsibilities will include:
Dismantling existing fencing and clearing vegetation
Marking out and measuring fence lines using plans and drawings
Excavating post holes manually or with powered tools
Installing timber or concrete posts with precision, using levels and measuring tools
Mixing and pouring concrete to set posts securely
Cutting and fitting timber rails, palings, and adding security wire
Maintaining tools, vehicles, and work areas to a high standard
Following all health and safety procedures in line with Mitie's standards
Recording completed work using smartphone apps, including uploading photos
Liaising with customers on-site where needed
What We're Looking For:Previous experience in fencing, groundworks, landscaping, or similar outdoor trades
Ability to follow instructions, plans, and technical drawings accurately
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Experience using small plant/machinery and power tools (training provided if needed)
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Basic digital skills to log work and upload photos via smartphone
Full UK driving licence is essential
