Perform a wide variety of fastener and joint tests (e.g. Torque to Failure, Ultrasonic Torque-Tension, Coaxial Torque-Tension/Coefficient of Friction, Torque-out, Push-out, Joint Slip Force, etc.)Independently and accurately complete tests, stratify results and issue reports for approvalCreate and manage ‘test incident’ documentation to facilitate and track corrective actionsManagement of laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated and servicedDevelop, author and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating proceduresSupport engineering staff in the root cause analysis of test failures and failure analysis workstreamsSupport management in the procurement, purchase and installation of new equipment

Practical knowledge of mechanics (e.g. forces, moments, friction) including a basic understanding of the interactions between the torque, clamp load and frictionExperience operating universal test systems (e.g. Instron, Zwick etc.). Experience working with torque wrenches, electric nutrunners and any specialized test equipment (e.g. ultrasonic testing, digital-image-correlation) is a plusFundamental knowledge of materials-centric automotive test standards (e.g. ASTM, ISO, SAE).Experience working with vendors and external test labsStrong interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish effective working relationshipsAn ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and manage time independently; must maintain top level professional integrity and appearance throughoutKnowledge, understanding and a track record of conformance to ISO 17025 is advantageous

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
