Position Summary:

The Family Resource Coordinator assists elementary and middle school students in achieving academic success by addressing non-academic barriers. This role supports the launch and ongoing development of the Family Resource Center, and works to provide all students with quality academic supports. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

Essential Job Functions:

•    Works closely with afterschool program staff on complementary activities that support achievement within the Neighborhood School Center’s four Opportunity Areas;
•    Develops close working relationships with school administrators and staff, students, families and community stakeholders;
•    Identifies and work with a maximum of 25 families whose children have been identified a most risk each academic quarter;
•    Ensures that basic needs of families of underperforming students are met, such as food, clothing, shelter, access to health care, etc.;
•    Develops a comprehensive and strategic set of family support tools that addresses various types of issues and problems that are impeding non-academic student success;
•    Effectively manages volunteers, student employees, and Federal-Work Study tutors during the afterschool program as they provide services that support the success of children and families;
•    Establishes and maintains data base management system that demonstrates students’ and family progress toward goal achievement;
•    Tracks measurable outcomes and provides reports as needed;
•    Collects, analyzes, and reviews data, and conducts program evaluations, sharing successes, and developing continuous quality improvement efforts;

•    Embraces and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation;
•    Performs any other duties as assigned.
