We are looking for a Fall 2025 Intern - Systems Engineering Simulator (SS) Simulation Engineer – Math Modeling to assist the lead of the motion table washout algorithms with developing a visualization tool that will assist the SES team in understanding and adjusting the eyepoint for the motion table riders.  

This is a temporary role not to exceed 13 weeks.

The selected candidate will\:

Assist with developing the web interface for user interaction with the tool.

Develop database tables and queries to manage the data.

Report to motion table washout algorithms lead for technical guidance, support, task assignment, and processes.

Prepare status reports as required.

Interact with other NASA and JETS teams and departments.

Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.

Perform other tasks as required.​

Requisition Qualifications\:

Currently enrolled at an accredited university.Completed at least 45 credit hours.Minimum of 2.8 GPA.

Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or WebEx.

 

Requisition Preferences\:

​College Junior or Senior working towards a BS in Math or equivalent from an accredited university

Courses in Calculus, Differential Equations, and Numerical Analysis

Courses in Calculus, Differential Equations, and Numerical Analysis.

Interest in NASA or Space Flight.

Courses in Calculus, Differential Equations, and Numerical Analysis.

Interest in NASA or Space Flight.

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
