Position Announcement Position Details Proposed Start Date 09/16/2025 Working Title Fall 2025 - Adjunct Instructor of Accounting, Tax - The School of Business Department 250001 - SBA Deans Office Position Number D97728 Representation AP - AFT, Local 3571 Position Summary Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept Position Summary We invite applicants to join our part-time adjunct instructor pool to teach courses in Accounting within the undergraduate programs of The School of Business. We will contact qualified candidates as applications are received.
Our immediate opening is for the ACTG 395 Taxation course in Fall 2025 in the “Online – No Scheduled Meetings” modality (i.e., fully asynchronous via the Canvas learning management system).
ACTG 395 is a four (4) credit course (link to Portland State Bulletin).
Here is the course description:
Provides students with a broad range of tax concepts, tax policies, and different types of taxpayers. Students should develop an understanding of how tax laws affect most business and personal financial decisions. Tax reporting, tax planning, and basic tax research skills will be emphasized.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting or taxation.
Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent.
Five (5) years work experience in tax accounting.
Experience with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System. Preferred Qualifications Residence in Portland Metropolitan area, including Washington state. Key Cultural Competencies • Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.
