The Facilities department seeks a Facilities Technician to assist in the operations, maintenance, and repairs to the University’s buildings and grounds as well as light HVAC repairs. The typical work schedule is an 8-hour shift during a 40-hour work week. Some overtime required.   • Responsible for general maintenance including painting. • Participate in rotating on-call coverage. • Completes facilities work and room set-ups initiated by faculty, staff, and students. • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains the building systems and facilities as required. • Assists with the completion of small-scale carpentry projects. • Performs repairs of doors, hardware, and basic locksmith tasks. • Completes light electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures and switches. • Completes light plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems including replacement of fittings and clearing of stoppages. • Parks cars • Repairs and replaces of glass, tile, screens, locks, drapes. • Assists in removal of snow and ice as needed. • Assists in small office moves. • Carries out preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. • Participates in the on-call rotation for emergency situations such as inclement weather or mechanical failures. • Contributes to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment. • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor
