Description We are looking for an experienced Facilities Technician to join our team in Santa Clara, California. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall condition of assigned buildings. This position requires a hands-on individual with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, and vendor coordination. Responsibilities: • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the facility remains secure, safe, and in excellent working condition. • Diagnose and resolve issues with power systems, mechanical equipment, and building controls. • Perform general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing repairs, and preventative upkeep. • Replace lighting components such as bulbs and ballasts as needed to maintain proper illumination. • Assist with the relocation of office furniture, machinery, and various materials as requested. • Oversee vendor activities to ensure quality service and adherence to safety protocols. • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and report any significant issues to management. • Collaborate with team members to address facility-related challenges effectively. • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and building regulations. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • A minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work independently. • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems and understanding their design and maintenance. • Familiarity with tools and machines, including their operation, repair, and upkeep. • Experience with vendor management and coordinating external service providers. • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities. • Ability to handle physical tasks such as moving furniture and equipment.
