Job Summary
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.); Perform general cleaning.
The classification of this position is broad and assigned specific functional areas; duties and assignments may overlap depending on the operational needs of the department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulks windows and doors, repairs and replaces broken windows.Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.Assist in janitorial duties as needed.Repairs and replaces door knobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls.Paints interior and exterior walls.General repair and maintenance of support equipment, including golf carts and heliporters.Other duties as assignedAdditional Job Requirements

Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 1-2 years of maintenance experience.Skills
Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings.Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.Ability to work with minimal supervisionComputer Skills
Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookPhysical Demands
Flexibility in working under various types of weather and temperature conditions. Comfortable and safe in working near operating aircraft.
