Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Facilities Mechanical Engineering Intern located in our Austin, TX site.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Intern will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.

What a typical day looks like:

Assist Engineering Team with cost reductions, reviewing documentation, drawings and CAD Support the documentation for new designs, including AutoCAD drawings, Word, Excel, etc.Support with writing Scope of Work (SOW) for new manufacturing processes and facility upgradesAssist and oversee the upgrades of the facility and utilitiesMonitor Engineering DOE (Design Of Experiment) projectsCollaborate with Engineering Team with writing reports and reporting findings to teamAttend team meetings and support project work as neededProvide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilitiesDevelop and maintain process documentation within our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), including Work Instructions and Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PM)Make recommendations on cost improvement and reduction programsManage engineering projects and deliver them on time

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

Senior student currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering major (undergrad)CAD tools (Solidworks) experienceLean/Six Sigma helpfulEnthusiastic about working in a medical manufacturing environmentHighly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills

Internship Program Requirements:

Ability to start on May 26th and work 10-12 week Summer assignment (in-person); 40 hours/weekCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 GPA
