Facilities Manager (Horseshoe Bossier) Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the successful operation and direct management of the Facilities Department to include but not limited to Maintenance and Grounds.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ten (10) years’ experience in food service industry, minimum 5 years in Banquet/Catering function. Five to seven years’ experience in managing the functions and activities of a multi-functional hotel, casino, hospital or relative facility. Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.  Experience with work order management systems (i.e., Maximo, Hot Sauce, etc.) is preferred. Must obtain and maintain any licenses, permits, insurance, or indemnifications necessary for the completion of duties and responsibilities associated with this position or for the protection of the Company’s assets, employee or patrons. Proven ability to provide direction and motivate employees through superb team leadership, development and partnering abilities and be able to handle multiple tasks and deploy resources effectively.  Must have a demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate options and make decisions which positively influence both short and long-term business objectives.  Must be relationship-oriented, be a person of stature and credibility who will take an active role in achieving property goals. Must possess excellent communication skills, oral and written, as well as excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.  Must be highly organized and possess the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the direct management of the Facilities Department.  Develops or assists with developing and managing the budget for Facilities and Hotel Maintenance.  Maintain a strict control on budget while maintaining high standards.  Responsible for coordinating with other departments on special requests for work to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.  Review departmental financial data and activities with department director.  Responsible for planning, controlling, communicating and implementing procedures and processes for the overall efficient operations of the department.  Ensure staff is trained and prepared to deliver the highest level of customer service to the guests in order that they might have a positive gaming and entertainment experience.  Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers. Manages programs and processes to control and reduce loss time injuries.  Delegates duties and assigns responsibilities.  Meet with directors and managers as necessary.  Monitors FTEs, actual head count, and overtime.  Achieve departmental and individual performance goals and duties in a timely manner.  Demonstrate ability to understand, communicate and comply with Company Policies, Processes, and Procedures.  Responsible for hiring and development of Facilities Supervisors, Facilities Technicians, Mechanic, Carpenter, Groundskeeper, and HVAC Mechanic.  Prepares and coordinates the periodical performance reviews of assigned personnel.  Delivers assignments/projects on time and completes all aspects before delivering to internal clients.  Prepares project plans that aid in moving project forward.  Remains up to date with the latest developments in the profession.  Develops skills to handle increasingly complex matters.  Complies with and upholds company expectations including Code of Commitment, policies, procedures, industry regulations, department goals and business strategy. Maintains proper behaviors when encountering guests.  Must be able to drive. Perform all other duties as assigned.  Acts as liaison between Caesars and 3rd party vendors. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES 

 

Knowledge of applicable EPA, OSHA, and ADA regulations and building codes.  Knowledge of applicable HVAC, alarm, and sewage systems. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and write technical and simple instructions.  Management abilities demonstrated in managing department and areas.  Public relations and customer service skills.  Oral and written communication skills.  Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.  Timeliness and accuracy in performing assigned duties and responsibilities.  Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.  Ability to manage and resolve complex issues. Can be a high stress environment.  Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.  Broad variety of tasks and deadlines requires an irregular work schedule in an interruptive environment.  Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.

 

DEMANDS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PHYSICAL & MENTAL:

Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time.  Responds to visual and aural cues.  Must be fluent and literate in English.  Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions, when handling guest and employee conflicts.  Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.  Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.  Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photo copier.  Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino, hotel, grounds, and maintenance shops.  Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, fumes, loud noises, and bright lights. May include boat and/or floating barge, high rise hotel and atrium. Must be able to walk long distances. Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to operate all types of hand tools and power tools. Must be able to operate a forklift and man lift (both scissor/boom).
