What this job involves:

The Facilities Manager is oversight of comprehensive facilities management operations across multiple properties. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to ensure optimal facility performance, enhance operational efficiency, and create exceptional workplace environments that support organizational objectives and occupant wellbeing.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Develop and implement strategic facilities management plans aligned with organizational goals and industry best practicesLead a team of facilities professionals, technicians, and service providers in delivering superior building operations and maintenanceEstablish and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all building systems and infrastructureDevelop, manage, and optimize substantial operational budgets and long-term capital expenditure plansDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and sustainabilityEnsure regulatory compliance across all properties, including health and safety standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and accessibility requirementsDirect emergency response protocols and business continuity planning for facility operationsNegotiate and manage complex vendor contracts and strategic partnerships to maximize value and service qualityLead major facility projects including renovations, expansions, and system upgradesCreate and implement workplace strategies that enhance employee experience and support organizational cultureDevelop and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate facility performance and drive data-based decision makingServe as the senior advisor to executive leadership on facility-related mattersChampion sustainability initiatives and energy management programs to reduce environmental impact and operating costs

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field8+ years of progressive experience in facilities management with at least 3 years in a leadership roleProven track record managing complex facilities operations across multiple properties or large campusesStrong background in budget development, financial management, and cost controlExperience leading major facility projects and capital improvement programsDemonstrated success in team leadership and staff development
