Facilities Manager Job ID 237711 Posted 11-Sep-2025 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Facilities Management Location(s) Ames - Iowa - United States of America **About the Role:** As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will lead a team responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of a 322,000-square-foot industrial facility. Your role will encompass the management of both soft and hard services across the entire site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and timely completion of work orders. This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans. **What You’ll Do:** + Provide formal supervision to employees, including monitoring staff training and development. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions. + Plan and oversee the team’s daily activities by establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, and cross-training team members. Set and monitor departmental deadlines, offering mentorship and coaching as necessary. + Lead daily meetings with technicians to develop effective plans for achieving daily objectives. + Manage infrastructure repair projects across the facility. + Coordinate and oversee facility repairs and maintenance by collaborating with technicians, vendors, and contractors. + Plan and manage upcoming work orders to ensure continuous production operations. + Maintain positive relationships with clients and conduct meetings to address unresolved facility issues. + Prepare and oversee capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports. + Perform facility inspections to ensure quality assurance in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Identify operational efficiencies, necessary repairs, and opportunities for upgrades. + Oversee environmental health and safety procedures, ensuring adherence by vendors and on-site technicians. + Document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Fire Life Safety procedures. + Manage vendor relationships, review invoice procedures, and evaluate price quotes for parts, services, and labor related to projects. + Conduct process and procedure training on maintenance, repairs, and safety best practices. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement. + Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives. + Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes. **What You’ll Need:** + Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred. + Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility. + Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. + Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department. + Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset. + Advanced math skills.
