Essential Functions:
Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering on construction and equipment upgrade/replacement projectsManages and controls the use of outside contractors/services when in-house resources are not availableEstablishes and maintains procedures that ensure high standards of productivity, quality, cost effectiveness and safetyObtains multiple competitive quotes from various vendors and secures effective resources for project needsPresents proposals and cost justifications to various levels of management to seek buy-in and approval across segmentsProvides oversight for the building of major capital projects including building and equipment enhancements or additionsOrganizes and controls the use of maintenance resources to reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment reliabilityActs as liaison with outside security/protection services team to ensure excellent customer serviceEnsures facility and personnel security operations requirements are met at local, state and federal requirementsManages the vendor relationships with the janitorial service contract and other necessary vendor managementMaintains partnership with all business divisions within Valmont to ensure quality and resources are providedProvides recommendations for process improvement/techniques within areas of responsibilityContinues to enhance and manages the maintenance program by the work order systemThis position reports into Manufacturing Engineering Manager has 1 direct report and 13 indirect reportsThis role requires up to 5% travel domestically, including overnight staysOther Important Details about the Role:
Practice a high degree of cooperation and coordination with all levels within ValmontAbility to interact with all levels within the organizationMust use independent judgement and discretionRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experienceProven project management experience overseeing multiple projects at one timeBasic understanding of engineering knowledge and ability understand engineering drawingsDemonstrated strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skillsStrong knowledge of OSHA industry standardsStrong understanding of Facility Security issues and operationsExcellent understanding of manufacturing/facility equipment operationsStrong leadership skills and the ability to support site business objectivesStrong financial and budgeting skillsHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business ManagementHigh level of initiative and self-motivationStrong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experienceKnowledge of IFS and AutoCADBenefits
