**Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician** **Job Description**
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support building maintenance and perform reactive repairs. The ideal candidate will possess problem-solving skills and have knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boiler systems, and woodworking. Strong troubleshooting abilities, effective communication skills, and environmental awareness are essential for supporting multiple buildings.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure facilities run reliably, including lighting, doors/locks, fixtures, HVAC support, classrooms, and common areas.
+ Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance requests, communicating status and resolution clearly to staff.
+ Conduct general repairs such as basic plumbing (clogs/leaks/fixtures), carpentry (hardware/doors/furniture), patching, painting, and minor building repairs.
+ Support HVAC operations with basic troubleshooting and maintenance; escalate complex issues to licensed vendors as needed.
+ Maintain safe outdoor areas, including conducting playground checks and seasonal site upkeep (snow/ice mitigation, leaf removal, gutter clearing).
+ Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables and chairs and providing basic operational support as assigned.
+ Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and inspections, verify work quality, and close out service needs.
+ Maintain records of work performed, parts used, and inventory levels; support purchasing requests as assigned.
+ Follow safety protocols while working in occupied environments with children, staff, and artists present.
**Essential Skills**
+ Knowledge in plumbing, facilities maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical repairs, drywall, carpentry, and boiler systems.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in maintenance technician roles.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Ability to climb ladders and work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
+ Experience working in schools, childcare, or public-facing facilities.
+ Certification or license in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical is a plus.
+ Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $52000.00/yr.
