**Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician** **Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance of a dynamic shopping center portfolio. The role involves ensuring all properties are maintained to high standards in compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidelines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Inspect property daily to identify hazards, damages, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Provide property coverage during weekends and holidays.
+ Perform basic repairs, including plumbing, lighting, door hardware, cement, flooring, woodwork, painting, and furniture.
+ Collaborate with staff on larger projects requiring teamwork.
+ Order supplies and maintain inventory of replacement parts.
+ Manage inventory control for the property.
+ Oversee outside vendor repairs as needed.
+ Generate and perform preventative maintenance programs.
+ Maintain internal and external lighting fixtures, including replacing ballasts and bulbs.
+ Provide ongoing maintenance for golf carts and RMUs.
+ Troubleshoot operating systems.
+ Assist the marketing department with center events, including event oversight and maintenance of signage hardware.
+ Respond to daily assistance requests from management, tenants, and contractors.
+ Obtain proposals for purchase orders, service contracts, or time and materials contracts.
+ Generate contracts within a proprietary platform.
+ Assist with certificate of insurance management and compliance database program for vendors.
+ Request and organize bids from vendors.
+ Document daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
+ Be on call for after-hours emergencies.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Minimum of three years of facilities maintenance experience with carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents and instructions.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Valid Driver's License in the state of California.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in shopping center maintenance is preferred.
+ Must have a good driving record.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes multiple shopping malls and food centers, with shifts from Tuesday to Saturday, 7am to 4pm. The position is based at Bay Street Shopping Center in Emeryville, offering a dynamic and engaging work atmosphere.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emeryville, CA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
