Facilities Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, utilizing practical skills and expertise in various trades. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, using a variety of hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Exceptional attention to detail and a collaborative attitude are key, as you'll work alongside a motivated team to maintain a safe and functional environment. **Responsibilities** + HVAC & System Expertise: + Manage commercial/industrial HVAC and air handling systems; including electric heating units and chilled water loops. + Utilize basic electrical service skills for high and low voltage systems. + Apply basic plumbing repair knowledge. + Building System Maintenance: + Ensure continuous operation of building systems: HVAC, elevators, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and emergency power. + Maintain an inventory of spare parts for critical systems and coordinate supply orders. + Building and Grounds Maintenance: + Ensure grounds are maintained, including janitorial services, grounds/landscape maintenance, and snow removal. + Ensure conference or meeting rooms are clean, organized, and calendars are current and that rooms are set up correctly. Ensure that audio visual and other equipment is available and in working order. + Perform non-janitorial housekeeping functions to maintain facility. + Perform tasks including the following: hang pictures; assemble furniture; accomplish office and furniture moves; install light bulbs; paint rooms and exterior of facility. + Preventive Maintenance: + Conduct routine inspections of all facility systems to identify issues and organize maintenance. + Develop maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of preventive tasks. + Project Planning & Execution: + Contribute to annual and 5-year planning by recommending facility improvements based on needs. + Document and estimate costs for significant projects. + Oversee and track approved facility upgrades or additions, ensuring timely completion. + Communicate project status to WAPA task managers, COR, or CO. + Serve as a technical liaison with local government and utilities on facility matters. **Qualifications** + High School/GED. + Must be a U.
