What you'll do We are hiring a Maintenance Planner to support our campus in Carlsbad, CA as well as global offsite locations. This position reports to the Facilities Infrastructure & Office Services Manager. In this position, you will provide support to the facilities group whose goal is to effectively maintain all systems, equipment, and assets in good working order to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for daily support of the Maintenance team to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs are communicated and executed in a timely manner. With your excellent multitasking abilities, you ensure all matters related to vendors and services are managed equally to internal maintenance services. Your effective communication skills will be key as you will be the face of the facilities department managing all incoming help desk correspondence. The day-to-day Coordinate daily work schedules to plan preventive and corrective maintenance activities between the operations, maintenance, requesting department, and other personnel throughout Viasat. Work closely with collaborators such as facilities managers, project managers, engineers, maintenance mechanics/technicians, and lab managers to define maintenance needs and facilitate clear communication and coordination of maintenance tasks. Assist Facilities staff in preparing detailed formal job plans for the maintenance of equipment and facilities. Review and report on completed preventative work requests to determine if time standards and job estimates are being met. Analyze and interpret maintenance trends and variances to prepare reports and evaluate the efficiency of scheduling initiatives. Assist in making scheduling modifications to achieve maximum use of resources. Maintain, develop, and update a variety of electronic and/or hard copy reports and records on topics tracked such as work backlog, equipment repair history and cost, trouble calls, work orders, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate tracking of assets via tagging system and manage additions, changes, and deletions into CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Develop and update equipment and material inventory. Procure materials, tools, equipment, safety, and other permits as required to complete a job. Develop and update preventive maintenance procedures and ensure all preventive maintenance work orders are automatically generated by the CMMS. May offer mentorship and guidance to less experienced staff and assist in training maintenance/operations personnel in proper use of the CMMS. Manage the UPS maintenance program and on call schedule and duties. Manage vendors and ensure work performed meets high standards of quality to customer satisfaction. Manage the facilities help desk by answering emails, Slack messages, and phone calls. What you'll need Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated ability as a maintenance planner in a facilities Department. Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). General knowledge and understanding of building infrastructure systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems (i.e. main electrical distribution, electrical panels, UPS/generator, air/water cooled chillers, air handling units, etc.). Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to work extended hours as required. Ability to be on call for UPS emergencies and maintenance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Valid Driver's License. US Citizenship. This position includes operation of a company vehicle and will require a valid driver’s license and compliance with the Viasat Vehicle Driver Policy. A detailed Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment will be required as part of Viasat’s pre-employment screening. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $80,000.00- $120,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
