Facilities Engineer II
**Job Description** A Project Engineer or Field Engineer that provides an eyes in the field perspective on numerous active construction projects to ensure each project is being performed in alignment with construction documents and BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) standards with a focus on safety and efficient project execution. Develop repertoire with BAE Systems SMS personnel in various departments to assist with coordination and logistics in areas adjacent to projects. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. **What You ll Do:** + Walk job sites daily looking for construction quality and safety anomalies. + Establish relationships with new and existing contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of construction projects. + Review forecast schedules provided by contractors for construction projects. + Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental regulations. + Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations. + Compare and contrast construction drawings, specifications, and RFI s for in field application. + Effectively communicate with internal customers regarding project impacts to or near their work areas. + Provide input on lessons learned activities with regards to projects and issues related to projects. + Create construction progress reports and document with progress photos. + Perform critical project closeout related activities to ensure seamless project handoff to internal customers. + Verify that the contractor is adequately preparing for the upcoming tasks and has all necessary materials and equipment to ensure the project stays on schedule. + Remain in constant communication with the project management and construction teams to ensure issues are identified early and addressed prior to causing project delays. + Works with internal and consulting engineers to understand the intent of drawings and specifications. + Ensures that all Job Hazard Analysis (JHA s) and Method of Procedures (MOP s) are completed for each project and/or operation. + Assists the engineering team with any discrepancies or updates to the construction specifications. + Ensure audit compliance throughout the Facilities organization. + Help determine and monitor effectiveness of job site corrective measures. + Coordination and facilitation of facility outages in conjunction with project team. This will include weekday and weekend outages. + Management of weekly campus shutdown meetings and maintenance of shutdown calendars. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. + May access other facilities in various weather conditions. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + Commercial construction management/engineering experience or knowledge. + Knowledge of construction techniques, systems, drawings, specifications, materials, and processes, specifically an ability to read construction drawings. + Critical thinker who can identify construction anomalies in the field and work with construction teams to resolve them. + Ability to understand the bigger project picture but apply it to tactical level of project execution. + Motivation to learn and a passion to execute construction projects in a fast-paced environment. + Solid Microsoft Office Suite programs, computer, and CAD knowledge. + Must be able to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. + Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations or the ability to learn these regulations as well as OSHA and Stormwater certification. \#LI-SW2 A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS/BA in Facilities Management, Engineering or related qualification such as Project Management, Business Management or Construction Management (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering field is preferred). **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
