**Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny**
Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.
**Main purpose of the role**
Coordinate and implement facility/utility projects and support facilities management program to deliver safe and reliable utilities/facilities for customers and business.
SME for Hard Services Systems ensuring compliance to the Abbott Global Policies.
**Main Responsibilities**
• Create & lead the successful delivery of capital and complex Facility & Utility projects, generate plans, managing the associated cost and time constraints.
• Interact with Architects, M&E Designers/Engineers on matters relating to building services. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
• Assist Design teams on development of site-specific Facility/Utility equipment/processes as required.
• Commission, organize and assess the work of contractors.
• Oversee and supervise the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
• Make life-cycle decisions about existing systems equipment and the appropriate location of new equipment.
• Ensure that the design criteria, specifications, and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
• Generate and execute validation protocols, trials/studies and create associated reports for facilities/utilities.
• Identify opportunities for new technology and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform and analyse data, evaluating results, forming conclusions & contributing to Facility/Utility process improvements.
• Identify and implement Cost Improvement and innovative Opportunities for Facility Operations.
• Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for planning plant, office, and production equipment layouts for economy of operation and maximum utilization of facilities and equipment.
• Support other business departments in the execution of investigations, trials and challenges of the facilities related systems as required.
• Act as site SME for mechanical system networks, monitoring and maintenance management systems relating to Facilities Utilities and Equipment.
**Qualifications & Experience**
• NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years Engineering/Automation/Aviation/Energy sector/M&E construction/ FMCG/ Regulated industries.
• Other relevant disciplines applies i.e. electrician with relevant Facilities experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
