What this job involves:
This role reports into the Assistant Facilities Manager, if challenges that come with being the go-to person on engineering matters excite you, join us to develop your strengths.
In this role, you’ll show your mettle as you find ways to uphold excellence and high standards in our preventive maintenance programmes and conservation practices.
Your engineering expertise will be your toolkit for success. Managing on-site mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil maintenance should be second nature to you. You’ll also be in-charge of preparing the list of critical spares for all installations based on the manufacturers’ recommendations.
On top of these, you’ll plan the maintenance inventory being carried out with our in-house teams. No machine failures of critical equipment should escape your sharp eye. You should, then, also be ready with a pre-emptive maintenance programme for these malfunctions to prevent the risk of sudden breakdowns.
You’ll also make sure that our logbooks, checklists and schedules are kept up to date and reports are submitted on regularly.
Main Duties:
Maintain comprehensive asset registers for all on-site equipment while monitoring inventory levels of critical spare parts as per manufacturer recommendations.Plan and manage engineering and operational contract budgets, supporting the development of technical vendor contract terms and conditions as needed.Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment, with proper Request for Change (RFC) documentation filed two weeks in advance.Monitor and evaluate mechanical and electrical vendors for service quality and statutory compliance, conducting periodic performance assessments.Oversee all technical projects and modifications to ensure compliance with standards, supporting clients with defect identification and resolution during project handovers.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for critical equipment, while creating and updating job descriptions for the engineering team.Implement safety protocols including CEM inductions for contractors, ensuring all work follows house rules and safety standards, particularly for after-hours operations.Manage incidents and emergencies with proper escalation protocols, developing contingency plans and conducting annual power-down procedures with thorough documentation.Identify and implement energy conservation initiatives and service improvements based on trend analysis of equipment performance and call-out patterns.Provide regular reporting including monthly engineering reports, technical audits, and risk assessments with timely closure of identified issues.Sound like you?
