We are seeking dynamic Facilities Assessment Consultants to support our growth, particularly on the west coast. These consultants will primarily assist with University projects across the country and must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. The role involves alternating between fieldwork for one week and remote data entry from home the following week.
ResponsibilitiesReview documentation during inspections, including drawings, blueprints, and maintenance logs.Conduct building system inspections through visual assessments of HVAC and MEP systems.Collaborate closely with facility management to gather comprehensive information.Utilize iPads for data collection and documentation of findings.Create estimates for identified replacements of parts or components.Ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation when not in the field.Use VFA software to develop cost estimates for facility replacements and corrective measures.Perform visual inspections and sustainability evaluations of facilities and related building systems.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Facility/Construction Management.Minimum of 2 years experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility/property management.Specialization in mechanical, electrical, or architectural inspections and assessments.Knowledge of building codes and standards for existing buildings.Experience with quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or similar data.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and mobile devices.Physical ability to inspect large complexes, including climbing ladders and stairs.
Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical certifications, professional registrations, and government clearance are advantageous.Multi-disciplinary knowledge, including architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), electrical, and/or site utilities, is beneficial.
Work Environment
Candidates will travel nationally, being in the field for one week and working remotely the next. Travel accounts for up to 50% of the time. Food, lodging, and travel expenses are covered. During remote weeks, consultants perform data entry from home. The work environment is dynamic, flexible, and involves working with a diverse team committed to providing valuable insights for facility management across various sectors.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
