Mars Wrigley- Hackettstown, NJ is looking for a Fabrication Technician

Pay: Based on experience starting at $39.43/HR+

What is the Required Shift?

Shift: Day Shift

Hours: Monday- Friday 7am- 3pm

Must be flexible to various start/end times and weekends pending business needs

Job Purpose:

The Fabrication Technician plays a vital role in supporting site safety, quality, maintenance, operations, and engineering by fabricating essential parts and implementing system improvements. This position requires proficiency in a wide range of fabrication methods and materials. The technician is responsible for creating and installing enhancements that elevate the safety, quality, and overall performance of the site.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GEDTechnical degree, trade certification, OR  2+ years of manufacturing or facilities technician experienceExperience with different fabrication techniques (welding, machining, sheet metal work, piping, etc.)Proficiency with various machine shop equipment

Physical Requirements:

Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periodsAbility to work in hot, cold and wet environments.Proficiency in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial or Facilities MaintenancePrior experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematicsMulti-skilled in electrical, mechanical, and controlsAbility to fabricate complex structures and components using various machining method

What will be my Key Responsibilities?

Serve as a technical expert on assigned facilities equipment, including maintenance, operation, fabricating and training supportEnsure fabrication of components is performed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, leveraging all available resourcesSupport Continuous Improvement and Breakdown Analysis processes through technical expertise and fabrication of componentsAssist in developing the technical skills of facilities team members, including preventive (PM) and autonomous maintenance (AM)Contribute to the development and utilization of new fabrication methods and vendor partnerships to enhance cost-effectivenessSupport site sustainability objectivesManage the use of external contractors and suppliers alongside internal fabrication capabilities to deliver timely and cost-effective solutionsAny ad hoc tasks

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all locations listed within the job posting:USD 35.02 - USD 48.16
