Description Robert Half Permanent Placement is excited to partner with an innovative Steel Fabricator in Olean, NY on their search for an established Fabrication Supervisor. This key leadership role will manage a team of 10 – 15 employees dedicated to the fabrication and welding of metal elements. This is a Direct Hire position with a starting salary of $85,000 - $105,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have steel manufacturing management experience, technical knowledge, and a constant safety mindset. Please note: relocation expenses may be offered for the right candidate! The facility is right in the middle of Olean near the university, restaurants, entertainment and much more! Responsibilities include but not limited to: + Supervise and lead fabrication and welding teams, assigning tasks based on production needs and employee skills + Plan and schedule daily work shifts, ensuring projects meet deadlines and production goals + Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and assist with machine/system failures to minimize downtime + Enforce safety standards, oversee disciplinary matters, and coordinate with HSE for ongoing safety training + Support employee development through training, guidance, and performance management + Collaborate with management and other departments on production strategies, design input, and equipment updates + Operate forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment as needed, while ensuring proper procedures and documentation + Maintain accurate work records, organized work areas, and adherence to safe working practices Requirements + Degree in a technical field and/or 3–8 years’ experience in steel construction with strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes required + Solid understanding of production cycles, automation concepts, and safety regulations in steel fabrication + Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate, train, and manage shop personnel while fostering a collaborative work environment + Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy + Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), ERP/company management software, and reporting/documentation requirements + Reliable, organized, and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities and ensure shop performance goals are met Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
