**Job Description**
BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Fabrication Program Manager Surface Ships to leverage your expertise in fabrications for US Navy shipbuilding to help grow the fabrication business at Jacksonville Ship Repair (JSR). The candidate will build and maintain trusted relationships with shipbuilders to understand their needs and strategize how best to position JSR to win and execute new work. The program manager will collaborate closely with stakeholders in production and facilities operations to develop near-term and long-term requirements for facilities and manpower to support fabrication growth.
Performance for this position will be measured against predetermined objectives for business growth and performance, including safety, quality, and schedule performance in addition to revenue and profitability targets. Fabrication Program Manager Surface Ships reports directly to the Director of Fabrication Programs. As the workload dictates, the Fabrication Program Manager -Surface Ships will hire direct reports to perform project management tasks as required. Help develop the careers of direct reports while winning and executing fabrication business.
Responsibilities
+ As capture manager, lead proposal development and planning to determine period of performance, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources throughout various phases of project.
+ Identify and assess issues and opportunities and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
+ Develop solutions to complex problems, which require an exceptional degree of ingenuity and innovation. Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
+ Responsible for change management including supporting the estimating process for growth and new work.
+ Accountable for ensuring facility and equipment requirements, specifications, and internal & customer expectations are clear to all stakeholders.
+ Accountable for directing, coaching, and supporting direct reports as required.
+ Develop and execute detailed plans and schedule.
+ Review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports.
+ Participates in the shipyard s Operational Excellence (OE) program. Interfaces with key OE leaders to share best practices and efficiency opportunities.
+ Collaborates closely with planning managers, craft managers, Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and other functional leads to capture, assess, disseminate, and institutionalize lessons learned.
+ Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
+ Keep management informed of status, issues, and opportunities, as required, including routine reporting.
+ Ensure compliance with all state and federal safety and environmental guidelines.
+ Ensure compliance with all company policies and foster a positive company culture.
+ Supports other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in project management, business management, engineering, or similar field or equivalent experience.
+ Experience in heavy steel or aluminum fabrication or construction
+ Experience with US Navy shipbuilding requirements
+ Experience with business development and proposal processes, especially with government subcontractors
+ Experience with planning managing complex projects
+ Exceptional communication, both oral and written, with customer and internally at all levels of organizations
+ Exceptional leadership skills, especially collaboration and teamwork required to win and execute new business.
+ Effective supervisory and people development skills
+ Financial modeling and what if analysis skills
+ Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
+ Ability to work in a fast paced, high-mix production environment.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Contract management experience
+ Negotiation skills
+ Experience in scheduling software Microsoft Project, Primavera, or Open Plan
+ PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
+ Experience with optimizing manufacturing facility layout and process improvement
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
