JLL is seeking a multi skilled and proactive Fabric Technician to join our dynamic Workplace Management team at a prestigious client site in London. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical fabric of the building to the highest standards, ensuring a safe, compliant, and first-class environment for our clients and their employees.

As a key member of the on-site facilities team, you will be the first point of contact for many maintenance issues. Your work will directly contribute to the seamless operation and pristine appearance of a world-class workspace.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of fabric-related maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to:

Basic Carpentry: Repairing doors, windows, locks, furniture, and shelving.

Basic Plumbing: Addressing minor leaks, blockages in sinks and toilets, and tap repairs.

Painting & Decorating: Conducting patch plastering, touching up paintwork, and small-scale decorating tasks to maintain aesthetic standards.

General Building Upkeep: Replacing ceiling tiles, adjusting flooring, and repairing fixtures and fittings.

Respond efficiently to reactive maintenance requests logged through our Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to building occupants.

Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks as scheduled, including fire door inspections, emergency light testing, and general building health checks.

Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and the setup of meeting and event spaces.

Escort and supervise third-party contractors on-site, ensuring their work is completed safely and to the required standard.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, updating the CAFM system accordingly.

Uphold and promote strict adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures, including conducting risk assessments and following safe systems of work.

Proactively identify and report potential defects or areas for improvement across the facility.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

Proven experience in a Fabric Technician, Handyperson, or multi-skilled maintenance role, preferably within a corporate or commercial facilities management environment.

A broad technical skill set covering basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general building repairs.

A strong understanding of Health & Safety at Work practices (e.g., risk assessments, method statements).

Experience using a CAFM or similar work order management system to receive and close out tasks.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.

Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner.

Desirable:

A formal trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds in Carpentry, Plumbing, or a related discipline).

IOSH Working Safely or a similar Health & Safety certification.

Experience working in a high-end, client-facing environment where high standards are paramount.
