Apex Technical School, a trusted vocational institution serving New York City since 1961, is seeking a dedicated Externship and Career Services Advisor to join our team. Compensation: $25/hr
Responsibilities
Assist students with professional development activities, including resume writing and job readiness.Match students with appropriate externship sites at the completion of their in-class training.Ensure students begin externships within required timeframes.Track and monitor student attendance and progress at externship sites.Communicate student performance to Department Program Head; arrange advising or remedial sessions as needed.Collect, verify, and file all required paperwork from students and externship sites.Meet with students upon externship completion to provide job placement support and preparation.Develop and maintain new externship and job placement sites.Conduct at least one on-site visit during a student’s 200-hour externship.Contact externship site supervisors weekly to discuss student progress.Prepare and submit externship and placement data and reports.Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years related practical work experience
